I used this guide with mine (RE 5.5" kit on 35" tires)
http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/fender_trimming.htm
finished it up with protekto trim afterwards.
Don't forget to hammer in the pinch seam inside the front fenders.

I cut to the top of the flareout on the metal of the fender. I just barely rub on the top. For the back edge of the front fender opening, you should cut till there is only 1 bolt left on the front fender. I believe there are 2 bolts on the bottom edge of the front fender. Cut to between them. That is where I get most of my rub from. My front edge barely rubs as well so you might need to deviate from the line a tad.

Personally I like the Armacel Pipe Insulation for trim. And everyone is right, just cut and fold the back - it's easy and trim how ever much you want off the front - an angle grinder makes short work of it

only if he just drives it on the road. lift height as nothing to do with tire clearance offroad when the suspension flexes.

Hey does anybody have a picture of the cut and fold method from the inside of the wheel well. I just dont understand fully what is meant by the technique.

Use these together:
http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/fender_trimming.htm
http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/Adjusting_Bumpstops.htm
IMHO, if you are only running 35's, the cut and fold method is overkill and looks like arse. Trim to the pinch welds, use the protecto trim, adjust your bumpstops properly, and call it a day. You have 1.5" more lift than me and 5" narrower with your 15x8" 4" backspaced rims, and I don't rub my 35's and I haven't trimmed past any pinch welds (trimmed into some of them since they aren't in a perfect line, but no cut and fold here).

oh yeah i understand, but what im saying is, if he gets the tires and bolts em on and lets it sit, you can pretty much visualize how much fender needs to go. When i did mine, i didn't want to have to cut too much fender off, so i trimmed, then tested flex and then smoothed out as needed. The rear will be easy, because you just hammer up more metal if you need more room.
