300$ Cherokee Project
A friend of mine and I just picked up a $ 300 1988 Cherokee Limited, 207k miles 242 TC, AW4 transmission ( with power / comfort switch
 ), leather seats, hitch, tow hooks and plenty of free rust  First the bad: does not go into neutral or reverse small rust hole above the muffler cracked windshield broken radiator broken oil gauge Bad alternator (I Think) did not have an oil change since May 11, 05 transmission fluid was black and burnt the electric seats are not working blower motor does not come on hole in exhaust all the shocks are shot passenger side wheel bearing is bad The good: It runs the diffs dont look bad only 207,000 miles young  rear windows tint looks good engine does not make any funky noises 6 speaker sound system leather seats body is in fair condition rust is not that bad on the underside        The black primer on the side and wheels was from me. also the pic of the engine is after i cleaned it what we have done so far: Sea foam twice changed the diff, TC, transmission, oil, fluid new battery new fuel filter cleaned engine and under side new air box (from my 98 XJ) new positive battery wire new tires on the front Are plans after I get it up and running good: 4in lift (s-10 leaf and shackle coil spacers and zj coils) fender trimming 33in tires Flat green(army green) with white star paint job bed-line the whole interior home brewed snorkel light rack CB radio Any comments or suggestions Edit: I will up date with Pic after lift or paint job

Should be sweet rig when you are done. I would probably have a hard time buying just a D44 axle for the price you got an entire running XJ for.

Sounds like a good deal, as well as, some good fun! The seats are great.! I'd take em off your hands if you decide you don't want them ;-)

I had leather seats in my '91 XJ and they are so dam comfy.

up north where i live (northern ontario) i CAN'T get anything in that good of shape for that price... you ever take a trip up here with that jeep and want to sell her, let me know!! LOL! |
