3-3.5 inch lift questions

ok so heres the deal. i just bought a 98 cherokee, paid it off, and now i want to get a lift for it. the one i decided on is a 3.5 inch lift kit by rubie express. ill post the link below but what i wanted to know is do i need a tranny drop for something this high?? my dad bought a 93 YJ and he got a 3 inch and had to drop the tranny. if i do is it something that would come with this kit or do i need to buy something extra. also is this something that would be easy to do??
thanx
steve

You shouldn't have to drop the tranny, maybe some transfer case spacers or better yet a Slip Yoke Eliminator. These mods are only really necessary if you get driveline vibration after the lift.......

only way to know if you'll need a T-case drop is to do it and drive to see it you get any vibes.... some need it at 2" some dont need it till 5". If you have the money... of course get an SYE and new drive shaft. If not... some spacers such as small box tubing or washers is the cheap way to do it.

you will probably need a SYE/driveshaft. The newer Jeeps usually do. I haven't had to do that to mine, though I'm going to put a TC drop on just to be safe....
