2001 XJ - Steering Wheel Tilt

Hey,
I'm trying to fix the steering wheel tilt on my 2001 XJ .... The lever that usually releases the steering wheel does nothing and just kind of flaps around... I kinda looked around and it seems like the steel cord which connects the lever to the inner part of the steering wheel column was cut somehow... anybody have a diagram or useful links on fixing this?

thanks!

Did you get it fixed?

The same thing happened to my 97 XJ yesterday. I removed the dash and found that the cable attaching the lever to the mechanism simply broke. Wondering if you found a replacement for it anywhere?

The only place to get a replacement for that cable is the junkyard.

Zip Ties

Of course, zip ties can fix everything.
