Whoever screwed the trim into the side of the Jeep obiously didnt care about it so it was probably neglected...

I would look for anothe XJ.....they made a lot more than this one. Not worth 10 seconds of anymore of your time my friend.

It seems to be looking like that. only thing is, I cant find any cherokees at dealers around here. I cant just go fork out 3 or 4K. I gotta be able to do payments closest jeep I can find that is decent is close to 250 miles away.

i know its tempting to buy the first decent one you see, but keep looking, they are around, tons of them. it would suck to have to drive and get it, but paying 8k for almost any XJ is ridiculous, i got my 99 with 56k for 2800 bucks, with some issues, but nothing serious.

keep your head up and keep looking, and unless you want a lot of work, don't buy this XJ

Judging by the door gaps and the relation of the top of the doors to the drip rail I will agree it has been in a major accident. I wouldn't pay more than 5500 for it in pristine condition anyway. You can find them all day long around here that are close to perfect with zero rust and around 100,000 to 120,000 miles from 4500 to 5500.

The price is WAY out of line.

No matter how you spin this, you need to pass on this vehicle!

And the 00-01 has the "infamous" 0331 cylinder head, which has a casting defect between cylinders 3-4, which makes it more prone to cracking than other heads. Not trying to talk you out of an 00-01, but you need to understand this issue before you sign on the dotted line.

Keep looking. Personally, I'd look for a 98-99 if you can find one.

the 8500 isnt want they are asking. Its what KBB is saying its worth. yea i know about the heads I just saw it when i drove by and thought it looked good. What i really want is a 98-99 model. which at first i thought that was this one was.

X2 what he said. I just bought one exactly like this one a year ago. 2001 XJ Sport 140,000 miles on the ODO, I paid $4000. The only difference is mine has the Chry 8.8 rear axle. Lower mileage makes a little difference but not that much. And that oil leak is definitely not a drain plug.

Even if it hasn't been in a wreck $8,500 is absurd. Maybe more like $6,500, at least from what I've seen shopping around.

With all that rust and Bubba style body repairs along with the oil leak I'd say more like $2500.

http://littlerock.craigslist.org/cto/2188964272.html I found several like this in your area. 3500 to 4500 would be a good price on one that hasn't been wrecked and only has very minor problems, with less than 150,000 miles. I would try to get a loan through a local credit union or bank and skip the dealers with their outrageous prices on junk. You could buy this for less than the one you posted and it is lifted, locked, and built pretty nice. http://littlerock.craigslist.org/cto/2194593225.html
