2001 XJ Header

I have began shopping around to put a header on my '01 XJ Classic. I am finding that most manufacturers don't offer one for the '00 and '01. Mine does not have the 3-2 manifold on it. Will one that fits say a '99 fit on mine? Which brand is the best for the money?

From the Tech FAQ sticky:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/a...ffered-502290/

No opinions on what brand to run, but I'm pretty sure that headers for earlier models won't physically fit (exhaust ports are slightly different). Plus they don't have any bungs for the extra 02 ports that the 00-01 motors have.

Any reason for replacing it? It isn't like the earlier design that cracks all the time.

My manifold does not have two collectors with extra O2 sensors in it. Mine is a single collector. I was thinking of replacing it for increased power and maybe a bit better fuel economy.

So your 2001 doesnt have two collectors on it with an 2 - O2 sensors on the "end" of your manifold? I can't say I have seen that on an 00/01. The only thing that I can think of for a reason would be that you don't have the California Emissions Package on it. Care to take a picture of it for us just to verify?

Well if there aren't two collectors then my only recommendation would be to call a vendor before you buy and see if a 99 and older manifold will work. It should mount the same way, the only thing I would be concerned with are the exhaust ports and the location of the downpipe.
