2000 XJ, finished lifting...still tinkering *(PICS)*

I've actually had her done for about 2 weeks now. Had to do some tinkering with the front end and get the bumper on (no pics of that yet, i'll post tomorrow), but I wanted to share what I've gotten done! I "helped" a fella do the lift on my TJ, so this was really a first time for me. Had 3 different buddies show up on 3 different days to help in 3 different areas! LOL, worked out well. I actually did the front end first because I was waiting for my parts guy to finish up the new-to-me rear D44 ( gears, brakes, locker install). I was itching to get under it, so I just started what I knew I could finish. JUST finished correcting the steering ( new ZJ pitman arm and new tre..old one was stripped, and I centered the XJ under the front axle ). Drives like a dream now! The new 4.56 gears actually give it a tad more a$$ than it had stock. Anyhoo, heres the pics...i think:

The humble beginnings:

My buddy Josh...good 'ole rear shock mounts...he had done this sort of thing before...and he fit under there just a tad better than I!

Like I said...had the front done first. ODELAY, VATO! LOL, my wife thought it looked neat...

Lift complete! minus an alignment, a bumper, the locker switch connected.......

My D44! Came out of an 87 waggy...new brakes, gears, and the electrac

AJ's OffroadArmor front winch bumper...it's on now. I'll post new pics in the a.m.

In all:

RE 4.5" kit w/ the full rear packs/shackles, hd trackbar/reloation mount, ADJ LCAS
AA sye, TW DS
4.56 gears to and fro
Rear D44
Detroit electrac in the rear (just got that finished today!)
ZJ pitman arm, new tre
33x12.5x15 trXus M/T's
15x8 rockcrawler soft 8 knock-offs! lol
AJ's Offroadarmor front winch bumper ( ahem, yes, minus one winch...$$$)

It's not much, but minus the gears, i did it all in my garage with only the manual labor assistance of 3 buds. She rides like a dream and looks pretty cool. Can't wait to try out that locker!

Kudos to Joe at EndlessMtnFab for helping me put the kit together to order...and for finding and completing the rear axle! and to AJ for his bumper...I've read some scary posts about his wait times...I got lucky...about 3.5 weeks to my door!

anyhoo, thanks for looking!

btw, I am currently accepting donations in the form of winches, rocker armor, and roof racks...all comers welcome!

Looks great, hope you are willing to trim cause you will have to. I am running approx. 7 inches of lift with 33's to avoid trimming.

I trimmed a bit of the insides of the front flares/fender...i was rubbing when turning at the bottom of a hill...probably gonna have to put in some coil spacers for the front anyway...she's a little prow heavy now and the winch will weigh her down more!

you have some more info on the cubby hole sub thing?

btw, great looking Jeep. I love the way the silver ones look when they're lifted and have some equipment!

Man that is one badass XJ. I love it. I can't wait to get my 4.10s for my 31x10.50s; if your 4.56s gave you a tad more power than stock w/ 33s I'm sure I'll feel a difference with 31s and 4.10s. Woot!

BTW, I hope you plan on doing some cutting if you want max flex...

Can you shoot a few pics of how AJs bumper mounts up? I need to know how many holes it mounts to on each side.

Also, if you trim you can run 35s later on.

Great XJ

That is just about exactly the way I would set mine up. I love that AJ Bumper...been wanting to see it on a a live XJ for a long time. You just sold me!!!!. I assume it has Frame tie in's...did you have any issues with fitment????

Who did you buy the lift through?

Where did you get the D44?
