2 door cherokee

I might have a chance to get a 2 door cherokee pretty cheap. Any draw backs to the 2 door compared to the 4 door XJ ? All suspension is the same so are the lift kits the same? Thanks

the doors on a 2 door are bigger and may have a tedency to sag more than 4 doors.

Most of the difference between the 2 doors and 4 doors is just that: They have less doors. I believe a lot of the Sport editions also had the 2.8 Litre V6 or a 3 speed transmission. 2 of my friends have the Cherokee Sports, both 3 speeds, and both not the 4.0. Also, you won't have the same axels on those, I believe. I think they had the D35's on the Sports, but I am not positive. When it comes to lifts and such, I believe that all the XJ's are the same in that department. How much are you paying for the Jeep? Remember to check the frame for rust, and of course, talk him/her down some for anything bad on it (such as rust on the frame, body, dents, leaks, and the like).

Well one of the nice things about living in Arizona, theres not much rust on cars on here. But yes i will check over real good. I had a 92 XJ that i have missed since i sold it. So im lookin to build another one.

ive got a 91 2door, with a 4.0 5speed with a D35 rearend. The only thing different is the door size. i personally like the look of a 4door better.

It seems that the 2 doors were usually manuals whereas 4 doors were the autos

I don't see why the ratio of autos to manuals would be different between 2 and 4-door models. I imagine there are more manuals in the lower trim levels as oppsoed to the higher end versions.

I have a 92 and its auto and a 4.0. The best thing IMHO is that with the 2 door, you dont have to worry about carting alot of people around. If you have a 4 door it almost attracts friends needing a ride. I took out the bench seat in the rear and have mad cargo space. (even after putting in a speaker box with 10in woofs.) You decide for yourself. Getting parts for them is kinda tricky though. Like door panels and things like that.

the doors do sag a little more...but when you are cruizin with the windows down you have so much more room for your arm to sit on the door. bigger door= bigger window. and mine does have the 5spd with a chry 8.25. has anyone mentioned they look a lot better. and yes all the "suspension stuff" is identical.

Your ear might start to bleed because of nagging, envious 4DR drivers

If your friends only bum a ride from you because you have a 4 door vehicle, then that is sad...

My seats are always down unless I absolutley have to give more then one person a ride somewhere.
