Update 12/28/07

Just paid $100.00 for two backing plates and calipers from a 97 ZJ. The guy says the calipers will need rebuilt, but for 100 bucks shipped i think it was a good deal. One more thing to add to my list of projects

-Fix drivers window
-Install front rotors and pads, paint calipers
-Rebuild and install ZJ disc conversion and new Rotors and pads
-Take off fogs, drill and tap holes for new grade 8 bolts, sell.

pics: (not mine, the dude i bought from took them)

Looks good, almost identical mods as my wifes Jeep.

I'll be interested to see how your rear disc conversion goes, when it's time to do brake work it's getting upgraded.

*edit*

Got the ZJ parts in yesterday. Im gonna clean em up and paint the calipers. One needs a new soft line and the other needs the caliper rebuilt. They could also both use some new P-Brake parts, but the shoes look fine.

You'll love that for recovery, it's nice to know your stuff is going to stay put when you hook it up

Went wheeling a little yesterday. I didnt bring a Digi as i didnt expect we would stay long (one of my buddies was just showing us the place) until my buddy (xrcodeman on these boards) broke through some ice covered mud. Then it got a little more fun. I ended up getting stuck on the ice of a frozen pond (didnt realize it was a pond). And yes it was all legal.

All in all we had a good time for 30 mins

You need some tow hooks. Incase you ever get stuck and need a front pull. Nice jeep. How do you like the tires now?

Im looking into a whole new front bumper. I love the tires. They seem to be wearing great and are nice and quiet on the road. Id definately buy them again, but maybe get 32s or even 33s. I dont want to regear though.

I love my 4.56's. I have so much torque. In low range locked in first gear it wont go past 5mph and it can alomst push though the brakes.

Yeah its expensive, but I got back so much power and mpg with gears. Now 4.10's would be beter for the highway. Mine hardly down shifts in the mountains.

Now if you mostly drive on flat ground you can get pretty good mpg out of the 3.55's.
