1999 Sport steering issue

Just replaced both steering hoses on my 99 Sport and now I have what I call a "catch" in the steering when turning both directions. Could also be described as slight play in the steering. This is directly related to the hose change, since it was perfect before. Any ideas what it could be? Could air in the pump or gear be causing this. It didn't take much fluid to top it off after I changed the hoses.

Air in the pump would cause this. Too bleed the system the manual says to turn lock to lock until all the air is pumped out. Did you use power steering fluid, The newer xj's don't like atf in the steering pump.
