1997 Jeep XJ Problems

hey forum,

I test drove a 1997 jeep country for $3000 that im still interested in buying and I noticed a couple problems off the start . Whenever i turned either way, I heard a clunking noise in the front end of the jeep. I think it might be the tie rods or some bushings that need to be replaced. The previous owner replaced all four shocks and brakes. Could it be a bad fix?

Another problem was the a/c. Not a big problem, (I live in Cali) but I'd like to know the best way to fix it, myself or take it the shop.

I bet you guys will know the answers. I'd also like the price of the fixes you guys reply with.

Thanks for your time, Cole
