1995 Jeep Country turns off While driving.

Hello and thank you for the time to read and help with your advice.

I got a 1995 jeep Cherokee Country and it has just started to give me some issues. Here are the examples of what it does..
1) It turn's on OK and I let it warm up. If I turn it off before it warms up it wont turn back on till maybe an hour later if at all.
2) There are times where ones I am driving it, it will turn off while driving. I can put it on neutral and it may or may not turn on.
3) If I have it warming up it will just turn off after a while and it wont turn back on.
And at times it is weird because I have it running all day with no issues but ones I turn it off for a while and I try to restart it again it will not.
Ive had it in the shop but was told that there was nothing wrong with it but I know other wise. If anybody could give me some ideas or guidance i Would appreciate it. Thank you gain...

The most common culprit is the crank position sensor (aka the CPS). When they start to go bad, they will fail when they get warm. Once they cool down they will work again. Do a search on here for how to check your CPS and test it when your XJ is having trouble starting. If it is the CPS, get a new one from the dealer or NAPA. Avoid AutoZone, Oreilly, etc CPS's like the plague - in my experience almost all of them come dead-on-arrival.
