1994 Cherokee fuel sending unit help

Ok, so I have a '94 Cherokee and the fuel gauge reads empty all the time. I'm pretty sure the float is messed up and I've looked everywhere to find a replacement. There's none that I can find. I'm not really wanting to spend a ton of money. Any ideas??

Could be the float came out of the sender. You could pull it out and see, just make sure your under 1/2 tank (by mileage I'd guess).

I had to pull it out recently (in the last three weeks or so) because the fuel pump went out. The float was still attached, but it wasn't reading anything.

Just jumper the dark blue wire to the black wire at the fuel tank and see if your fuel gauge pegs. If it does the wiring is fine, if not you've got a problem with the wiring.
