1992 Cherokee Bodywork Questions
Hi, I'm new to this forum, my first post.
I have a 1992 Cherokee Laredo and I recently hit a deer with it at 110 km/h. So now my right front fender is looking quite crumply and I need to replace the grill, radiator shroud, headlight mountings, indicator and have the fender and front passenger doors fixed. I realise from a quick look around that these forums are focused on Jeeps modified for off-road use, but here's my questions: Jeep facelifted the Cherokee in 1997 and some the items to have changed include the grill and indicators and the front doors (no more vent windows). What is required to fit 1997 (and on) grill (with new style indicators) and front doors to my 1992 Cherokee? Since I have to fix my grill, fender and door, I thought I might just update my '92 to look like the facelifted Cherokees. Oh, yeah, if anyone knows much about an intermittent steering wobble/vibration on these vehicles... (it's not the steering damper, I've had that replaced twice already)? thanks! Sam

Use the search feature at the top of this page. Somebody has posted pics of their MJ Comanche pickup with the new XJ front end on it, so it can be done. Maybe somebody has the thread saved as a bookmark and can post it. This guy ........http://go.jeep-xj.info ....... has all kind of great ideas and explanations how he did things. He has put a 97+ front end on his XJ and has a write up about it in the How To section.
Look for a bent rim or a bad tire. Swap one front tire to the rear and see if the problem goes away. Try the other side. How are the ball joints?, the tie rod ends? ,worn?
