1991 130k Ignition issue
I've heard that cherokees are "hard starters". Is that true. Also, I smell gas on the inside. What is my course of action?

Jeeps seem to turn over a couple times before they start... don't know why. The gas smell could be the result of your Injectors leaking. They can leak around the Orings or the housing itself can leak. I would check that out soon. I have seen Jeeps burn to the ground cause of it. good luck

As far as "hard starting" goes the older Renix ones take two revolutions of the crank to start and that seems like eternity but it's not. The Chrysler ones that I think started with the HO engine in 91 (?) start "normally". As for the gas fumes you had better find out before you end up a toasted marshmellow. Don't forget the fuel lines back by the fuel pump and filter. Also check the rubber hoses on the charcoal cannister under the hood near the firewall on the passanger side.
