1986 jeep cherokee xj help

Hello, will a 2.8L v6 from a camaro/s10 fit in my jeep? it came stock with a 2.8L v6 and im trying to replace it.

Pretty sure it will. But, I would research doing the GM 3.4 swap if it were me.

Its not just a bolt off bolt on? would i have to change bell housings? or what?

The 2.8L can be replaced by a GM 60-degree 3.4L engine from the Camaro. The 2.8L and the 3.4L have the same exterior dimensions, making it an ideal swap. The primary difference between the two is on the inside - stroke and bore size.

Just realized I didn't even answer your question.

Yes that engine will bolt in. The GM built 60 degree V-6 is the same engine also used in the Chevy S-10s and other vehicles.
