15inch rims on a 2001 jeep Cherokee??

Will 15 inch wheels fit on a 2001 jeep cherokee? the dude at big o said its risking it but i think he was talking about a grand cherokee, which i am not its an XJ not a GRAND cherokee. He said on the 01's the calipers were bigger and it would hit.

Is this true I cant find any info on a 01 XJ just earlier models and WJs.

(again this is an 2001 XJ regular cherokee not a WJ aka grand cherokee)

Since the older ones came stock with 15's, I see no reason why a later one would have any issues in stock configuration.

I don't own an XJ any longer, but I still think they are the best of all the Jeep products ever made. My XJ was my favorite vehicle in my 50+ years of driving.
So...I stick around and give advice.

The dude at big o is retarded.

XJs used the same calipers pretty much their entire life span. They were also used on YJs, ZJ, MJs, and TJs.

15" wheels will fit no problem. I think some 01 XJs even came with 15s.

Not bigger rotors, just cast rotors. They are the same diameter, just a bit deeper.

The rotor/hub change in 99/00 was just a change in depth. The height/depth/width of the hub changed, whichever way you are looking at it. So the rotors offset changed to space it differently so it would line up with the SAME calipers. Sort of like changing baackspacing on wheels. You can use newer stuff on older Jeeps and vica versa. You just have to make sure the hubs match the rotors.

Most did, including both of mine. 16's were an upgrade option.
