01 XJ, front driver door lock issues

Having some issues with my 01 xj
104k on the clock
Recently installed 2 12"infinity subs and an alpine sub
Then replaced the front door speakers with 6 1/2" kicker speakers
Hooked everything back up, the passengers door locks fine, but the drivers doesnt
Wont even lock manually, with the remote lock thing, or any other way
Its odd, ive gone in and snugged the connections up with the locking and latching rods (connected to the back of the handle running from inside-out) and that seemed to lock the door only when the door was closed
Any ideas, im stumped

Also, pressing the switch (on the actual handle inside, not the power one for all doors) its stiff and hard to move and even that doesnt lock it

It sounds like maybe you bent the rod.

Ive pulled it two or three times now
Last time I worked, I just set it back a maybe quarter inch, and left out the top bolt just under the tweeter location, and one in the handle, so ive got those 3 main big screws in the arm rest holding it on
It seemed like those pulled it forward just enough to mess it up
So its worked like that so far (3-4days)
Which is really odd
I checked the rods, theyre not bent, and thick and im curious as to how id bend it

I've bent mine just trying to snap them back in the plastic holder.
