Calgary area - NewYears eve

If the weather is nice (no blizzard), I am planning on a day run on New Years Eve (Dec 31) to Margaret Lake in Waiparous. It will be a picnic run only - stock Jeeps welcome. If the lake is frozen over to a proper depth, we will do some ice skating as well.

Going to build a fire and enjoy the last day of the year, and planning to be back towards "home" by 6:00 for the all-night-parties!

Let me know if you would be interested in coming out!

I'm in , the ice should be plenty thick , after having this Arctic front parked over us for the last two weeks. Will we be needing tire chains ?

I was planning on taking a direct route to the lake. Chains might help if you have them - if you don't have them, then don't worry about it. A winch or straps would be helpfull as well.

I am planning on driving my Unlimited, stock tires, no lift in. If things get hairy (deep snow) I was planning on parking it and using my snow-shoes to continue

It was a great time!!!

Heading towards Margret Lake

We found Margret Lake frozen over

Corey checking his fluids

Greg heading down to visit with Corey

Me - posing my Jeep in front of some pretty mountains

Wish you could see the amount of action - these two were doing donuts around each other

GearHead88 (Jeff) posing for the camera

Needing some fresh water - broke through the ice to get at it
