Any French Canadians? Or French Speaking?

Can someone translate a name for me?
Or if there's no translation, what does the name mean?

Falardeau

From what limited google I can do from work, it appears to be French Canadian.

This was the name of the fellow who I bought my boat from. He basically gave it to us. As we were leaving, and he was sitting in his wheel chair, he asked me to take him sailing after we got her back in the water. I shook his hand and told him I would. I just found out he past away in June.

It really upset me that I didn't get to fulfill a promise. My wife suggested naming the boat after him.

Thanks
Paul

I asked a friend of mine who speaks French and she said it has no specific mean that she knows of, just a family name.

The name means nothing per se.
Falar is a Portuguese verb for "to speak" and d'eau is French for "of water".
So I guess you could say it means Speaking of Water, which might make sense for a boat name.
But like LabelkillX implied, Pierre Falardeau is not very popular up here in most parts of Canada. He was a fanatical anti-Canadian separatist who was committed breaking up our great country prior to his death on September 25, 2009.
No great loss imo.
I'd go for "Falar d'Eau" if I was going to name my boat for the old goat who sold you the boat.

This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are.
