ZJ for towing...

I understand a 1994 ZJ with the 318 V8 ( I already own the ZJ). Is a long ways from being the perfect tow truck (lol its not even a truck). But I'm looking to build a Yoda and was kinda wondering if the ZJ towing the Yoda on 16 foot trailer with single axle brakes would be even worth looking into. Be honest, give your ideas and opions would be great!

It is possible and well within the rated limits of the ZJ, just with it being unibody it is not ideal and will wear it out pretty fast. But it will most likely pull it, since you have plenty of power just make sure the trailer brakes work and it should be fine.

Thats kinda what I was thinking, but i would only need to use it for about a year... then upgrade to a full size truck.

You may be exceeding you GCWR depending on the weight of the trailer and toy. The loaded wieght of my WJ greatly cut into the total tow rating. The rating was 6500lbs, but with the Mrs and gear loaded in the WJ the tow limit was approaching a mere 5000lbs.

You will also need a weight distribution system as you will be over you no W/D tongue weight.
