XJ hitch question

Drive an 87 XJ and I was just given a boat but I don't have a tow hitch, my question is if I buy one how do I install it?

Very carefully ... it's really a PITA.

Get the type that uses individual inserts, NOT the type that uses the nutsert. E-Trailer sells this type.

You'll have to fish the bolts/metal inserts through a hole in the frame ... major PITA.

If I got a hitch on CL for like $50 could I just weld the f**k out of it? Until it seemed sturdy?

On a full frame vehicle that might work. On a unibody cherokee, it won't work so well.
