Just picked up a 67 c10 that will be getting air bags in the rear to go with a 4 inch drop in the front and a little 350 with a NV3500 5 spd. Should be a cool DD/tow rig when its all said and done. However, it is far from that right now.

About 6 weeks ago we bought a 2006 Ford F150 Supercrew FX4 to tow the Jeep behind and also to do double duty as a daily driver. It has the 5.4L, 3.73 gearing and HD towing package, and is rated to tow 9100 lbs. Plus it has almost every available option, including leather, and silly stuff like back up sensors, power sliding rear window, etc. I'm now shopping for a trailer...

I know in Michigan the first thing has to be a gooseneck, and I think the 2nd thing has to weigh less then the gooseneck.

I tow my heep on a 12ft double axle with brakes..I pull it with either a 01 Explorer with a posi, 4.0 or my 95 Ranger, posi, 4.0 with 4.11. Both are 4x4 and work wonderful except they use some gas on hills. Pulling to Tellico with the Explorer was awesome. We were passing F150s and Dodges who were trying to conserve gasoline in their guzzling V8s. I wouldnt mind having a powerstroke one day though.

I use an '07 Dodge 1500 with the 5.7L, tows the xj great on my 20" flat bed, it also hauls a 26' fifth wheel and the 22' enclosed trailer for the quads, had ~9500 max with the fifth wheel loaded down, towed it great from Oregon to New York, and Oregon to Texas.
Wish I had gotten the 2500 diesel for miliage and some more power though. Sometimes going through the mountains I really wish I had the 610 ft-lbs instead of my 375 or whatever the hemi has.
