Trailer help- will this work for my TJ?

I am thinking about picking up this trailer, but I don't have very much info on it.

Just from the looks of this picture, can you guys give me any feedback? It is a 6.5' x 14' flatbed and it has brakes, but the owner said he never used them.

I need it to tow my TJ and we have an agreed price of $700.

Any advice based on the info above and pic below?

For $700 I would jump on it. And I would double check the length, it looks alot longer than 14' wich makes it an even better deal. I say buiy it.

I think that is a good price. If I were looking for one, I would jump on that. I have a 16 X 6.5 that is great, and is steady at 85mph.

I cant tell form photo, but you may want to add "stake pockets" so you can chain your jeep down.

I would also add fenders, fabricate in such a way that you can bolt them on (or off), wish my fenders were NOT welded on.

Spare tire???

A good extra step is to take off the coupler you have and replace with a "bull dog", it is a much stronger coupler.

Check to make sure you jeep fits the ramps, or tht they slide to fit, and you will want to fabricate something to hold them OFF your jeep when loaded

Check the bearings and give them a good repack every couple of years, I added buddy bearings to my trailer.

From the photo, the lumber seems to be in good shape, but take a close look.

From the photo, it appears that you have 5 or 6 in channel, with lighter channel into the coupler, (wonder why they did it that way) but that should be plenty strong.

For $700 I don't see how you can go wrong. If you're handy, you can fix whatever needs fixing without breaking the bank.

My trailer has a 13' deck and it tow's my jeep just fine, if I were you I'd buy that one. Its also not very hard to make them longer, I've done it.

Sounds like a good deal unless there are some title issues.
