Towing behind RV

I've had my '14 unlimited for a few months. Just bought a 32' fifth wheel to go on the road with my husband for work. I've been researching the components needed to tow behind an rv & it's a little overwhelming... Can I get recommendations from experienced RV'ers on The easiest, cheapest and safest components needed to do this? There will be cross country travel and I'm a little worried about my Jeep getting damaged, so I want good parts, but don't want to spend thousands...

Check out Roadmaster and Blue Ox for tow bar stuff. The brackets for the Jeep will depend on the front bumper. A company call Cooltech makes a wiring harness that makes it really easy for the brake lights & turn signals. Pricy though...
An auxiliary brake system like a Brake Buddy or similiar is a must, but expensive as well.
Check the state laws on towing behind the 5th wheel, as I don't recall seeing such a setup in my 7 1/2 years on the road.
I've towed a TJ about 55,000 miles and my 2013 JKUR about 5,000 miles to this point with no issues. You just need to pay close attention to the details.

Good luck with it.

Check out the towing forum at:

States have different laws. Most are with regard to total length.
