Or asking a bunch of dodge guys what color of paint taste the best to lick

If you had to maintain a fleet that puts a lot of miles on it, your opinion would be somewhat different.

The 5.9L was in the Ram until 2007.5 then they went to the 6.7L. I have an 06 with the 5.9L and love it, I actually like the 2006-2007.5 better then the 2003-2005's because 2006 has a nicer interior and I like the wrapped headlights on the 2006 and ups.

I dated all of um, blondes, redheads, brunettes, dyed, bleached, and I think redheads are a little bit too b-i-t-c-h-y for me.

I might be wrong but that's when they switched something fuel pressure. I can't think of it right now

Calm down-it’s a joke
While each brand has it fair share of people you wonder if they licked paint as a kid, dodge seems to win with the number of people with 55 gal drums as stacks, blowing black smoke everywhere, having 10 Cummings stickers on the back window, and comments like "it’s a Cummings I can make 100000 FTLBs of torque on the stock bottom end"
Yes I know you are proud of your I-6, but it’s ok if we have some fun on here
I will say I’m jealous of my brothers 12v when it comes to working on it….
And yes I know most Dodge owners are not like that

OK, well the thing I always say is look at all the big rigs (semis) on the road, what kind of engine do all of them have? I6's...... the reason being is that I6's are stronger all around, the bottom end has one main bearing cap per cylinder and a V8 has one main bearing cap per two cylinders. Also, with a I6 setup you don't get the cylinder wear (egg shape) like a V8 engine. I admit, Dodge is a pile, I don't care for the Dodge part of my truck, but there is no way I could give up the Cummins engine. Now if I had a Chevy or GMC and did a straight axle swap up front then a Cummins swap I think that'd be the ultimate truck.

This is true, its just hard for me to pass up throwing some dirt at the dodge guys cause the go on and on about them, Ill stop talking ***** now and let the thread go back to the guys truck
Most of them have no clue why the I6 is so good, they nice to work on Ill give them that.
I still like my V8 for the toy I have turned it into though!
To the OP, that's a nice looking truck! The old 12v seem to run forever

The chevy front end is fine-guys crank the T bars to get "free lift" and that is where most of the problems come from, about $800 in built front end parts and its very strong and rides really nice.
Edit-for about $350 you can have a really strong front end in a chevy, the 800 is to go all out
My brother has 12v so you should see the talks that we have over what is better!

If I was going to make a truck from scratch, id use a dodge motor a chevy trans and a ford frame and suspension. Anyone else feel that way?

Depends on what you are doing-the I-6 is great for putting in OD and driving down the road, but Chevy/Fords have a flatter power curve so do better in that aspect. The 5.9 seems to run forever when stock/slightly moded.
Both the ford torque shift and the Allison do great. Everyone hates on the chevy IFS, but if you don't crank the T bars and put sleeves on the tie rods and brace the pitman/ idle arms they are just fine. I used to have a 2004 super duty and now have the 2002 chevy 2500, both cabs were nice. Everyone talks about how great the 5.9 is, but unless I was going to use the truck for towing 500,000 miles on the interstate I wouldn’t want one

Now that I say that, I do want to get my hands on a 12v to play with, I think it would be a fun next project
