Question. I'm picking up my new to me M416 this weekend. It has stock wheels, tires. Will stock cj wheels and 31's fit and clear? Thanks. I want to make sure it makes the drive back to San Antone.

Wrapped my trailer up on Monday. It's a '52 M100. Replaced the suspension, repaired the hacked lunette, repaired the hacked tailgate mod, rewired it and painted it to match my '12 JKU.

This is what I started with... The day I picked it up:

Here it is, hooked up for the first time to bring home after doing the work at my parents' house:

All that's left is to get the tarp I have ordered and paint the hooks and handles black and I should be good to go for a while.

Where did you find the tarp? Is it black?

Here's what I ordered:

Cheaper than the $115 for a NOS canvas tarp. And the black should look good. If the grommets don't line up, I'll probably pick up a tool and add some.

The trailer came together nice.

Would you mind letting me know how you like the tent after a few nights slept in it? Sport bikes and RTT's salesmen seem to be brothers. They both want you to drop a pile of cash down without so much as a short test drive. Leaving you to be the sucker for this years flop. I have read up on CVT and a bunch of the others but that never compares to real world experience.

Like all the other tools, paying more up front to get a better quality can save a lot down the road. (ironically,my son thinks that my quality tools should be left on the side of the road too!)

Will do. I am hoping to get out soon, but honestly it is not looking good at this point. Might be an October camping trip? Hopefully the weather holds up!

I noticed that a few of you guys have license plates on your trailer. Anyone know the specifics of how big a trailer has to be in order to need a license?

Im theDumbest one of the group here but think it depends on your county/state laws. Here in the great state of Texas we need a plate on them all to be legal.

Just don't look to hard for mine. ;p

Every trailer that hits the roads here in BC requires registration, insurance and a tag. No matter what size or use. Both my Tent Trailer and my Offroad CDN M101 require trailer insurance to be able to tow it, and then I put loss, comprehensive etc on them.

$$

Here insurance is like Franks Red Hot... I have to put that **** on everything!!

Well, still not 'offroad ready' but I got the Campah lifted today. I'll be ordering a set of 24" trailer tires to get it a tiny bit more height, as well as a slightly more substantial/beefy tire.

sits wayyyyyy more level now. only 2 weeks until its first big trip!

Marn, what's the bolt pattern on the trailer wheels?

I've got a set of 4 aluminum wheels (with tires) that I think came off a 1st generation Escort or Toyota (4x133mm I think). They've got (I think) 155R13's on them. If you want more info I'll take a pic or two tomorrow.

I could probably figure a way to get them to you (maybe).
