Safety fast, Bill

I just finished welding a crossmember on the rear half of a YJ frame...going to bolt on the remnants of a YJ tub. Can't wait to show these pics to the wife - she thinks i am brain-dead for making a jeep-trailer

91 YJ Runs 79 CJ5 waiting for winter
YJ - one step away from a CJ = lots of interchangeable parts.
TJ - one step away from a JK = sudden urge to go to the mall

AEV has a few sets of JK wheels with Rubi tires on them new for $1000 a set for anyone looking for a decent deal on trailer wheels/tires that look good. Yeah, it's more than what you'd pay for the same tire and a cheap steel wheel, but they do look good (and it isn't much more...heck, maybe it is cheaper as I think a "set" is five, not four from them).

AEV probably has rear tub sections from Brute conversions they'd give away if you come pick them up, too!

You could probably buy their cab "closeout" from the Brute conversion if you wanted to get really cute and put it on the front of the cutoff tub section for a really trick trailer.

Updates

Mentioned these mods in new threads but never updated here. I installed a factory fuel tank back in the trailer, wired up the fuel pump, hooked up a hose, and now I have a mobile 19 gallon filling station.

Thanks! Very soon I'm going to be starting my conversion into a camp trailer. Should be fun.

Man, that is as cool as a fan on HIGH. If you don't mind me asking how much money do you have in that trailer? TIA

Why don't the police ever think it's as funny as you do....

There is a great need for a sarcasm font!!

Thanks! I bought it for $600 then (these are best guesses since I didn't keep track):

$80 for steel for front basket (had an old ugly rotting wood box) buddy built it for me for no charge
$200 for TJ fuel tank and fuel pump
Paint work was donated, but would probably have been about $400.
Bushwackers were also donated, not sure what just 2 rears would be worth. Maybe $150?
Hi Lift was $60.
$350 for 2 tires and 3 wheels (I had one tire so I matched the 2 new to it)
$50 for a buddy to fix the taillights and wire the fuel pump.

So my total is $1340. Would have been about $500 more if I didn't have some generosity from friends, mainly Jeff from Bushwacker.
