New Jeep hauler

I just bought this trailer froma guy I work with, he used it to haul his race car but has quit racing now that his sons have son's of their own and no longer have the time to do it. I paid $1800 for it and he threw in a load leveling hitch as well. It needs to be cleaned up, there are some surface rust places I need to fix and the wheel bearings could probably be packed but overall it's in good shape. I'm thinking about installing a car top tent where tire rack is on top as well as a pull out kitchen on one side of the storage doors. I have lots of ideas but only so much budget. I think I'm going to clean up the rust, hit it with primer and bedliner the inside of it. Getting it road ready is the first step.

Anyone know exactly what the officail name of these type of trailers is?

I like your ideas. Is this going to be a build/resto thread? If it is, I'll be watching!

I believe the trailers are commonly referred to as racer box trailers.

Yea, I probably will turn it into a build thread. A long slow build thread.

It's a stock car trailer.

That's a cool trailer. Do you know how much it weighs with the steel deck and all? Everything that will not fit in my motorhome and the Jeep gets strapped to the front of my open car hauler. I like the enclosed front on yours.
I could stuff the Traeger grill in there for camping!

Just an idea but you might be able to find one of these used for a good price and put it on the front.

The trailer is pretty heavy, not sure what it weighs though. I like the sleeper idea but will probably go with a tent on top.

It also has a wrench in it, that's another plus. Hopefully I'll never need it!
