JeepRocks86 - i have a friend who is a fabricator with access to laser cutting equipment and cnc machines. he did the CAD design and fab work on the fenders.

so here is the tongue mount battery/propane box.

open

closed

and mounted up from the front

from the side

and this is the gap between the batt box and trailer tub, i will be running propane/water/power lines through here.

one final thing remaining, my friend designed a counter top that will mount to the passenger side of the trailer for cooking and stuff. as soon as we get that from the cutter/bender it will ge mounted up then the trailer is ready for the tent and awning.

Very Nice!!

Keep the pics of your progress coming as this is a cool project.

I picked up one of these trailers a couple years ago and it was one of the best Jeep "mods" to date.

Thanks for sharing!

David

well we got the side mount counter back from the laser cutter benders. my ingenious friend/fabricator has outdone himself yet again. the counter stores under the lid in transport then when i get to where i am setting up camp just lift the lid, pull it out and slide it onto 2 mini receivers and voila...instant kitchen.

well that is almost it for construction....just gotta mount the tent and awning. then of course dissasemble it all and get her painted.

Very nice build up.... wish I had a fabricator that could build me cool stuff. I like the shelf/counter top.

Only thing left that you need is some cool LED lights for it, check my selection

Looks like you have the same kind of problem I do when towing my trailer .. it turns my Jeep into a bit of a TailDragger. I installed airbags to correct it - so far - it seems to work very well!

Here is a picture in Radium showing how badly it was riding before the air-bags...

I don't have a picture of it with the air-bags.

well in those pics i have one of my tool boxes (250lbs) in the back of the jeep. it actually sits pretty level if i load the trailer correctly and dont put too much tongue weight on it. but i like the idea of air bags....might have to look into it. where did you get yours? manufacturer?

I bought the air-bags from Custom Truck Parts - http://customtruckpartsinc.com ... they have 3 locations in Alberta and one in BC (Surrey). The airbags are made by Firestone called RideRite http://www.fsip.com/riderite/ and they have all kinds of different setups. The one that you would want is designed for leaf-springs. When you need the extra load capacity - air them up and when you need flex - lower the air pressure and have fun. Really simple to setup ..

Nice trailer man. Would you mind posting the dimensions? I really just need the length and width of the lid. I've been looking at making a lid for my TJ tub trailer and it looks like yours is just about exactly the same size as the tent.

Great looking setup!

they are from www.campinglab.com, the guy is Fernando and a great guy to deal with.

BRICKTOP2 - That is the ladrge tent, folded it is 71"long x 47" wide, i am actually overseas working and wouldnt be able to get the actual dimensions of that top for like 4 more weeks but if i remember correctly it was 48x72...that wasnt planned just worked out perfect.

thanks for all the great comments and "NaeKid" thanks for the info on the airbags.

Awesome!!!

You did a great job on this trailer. I'm really inspired by the receiver on the rear. I'm going to add that to my m416 so thank you for the great idea! I've also been thinking about mounting a fuel tank under there above the axle. Probably just a stock jeep tank for an extra 20 gallons (I'll transfer to the jeep with a manual pump when necessary). I was going to put the water tank in the trailer itself. Either up front or right over the axle, but something easily removable. Did you wind up mounting a spare tire on the rear of the trailer?
