how to tow TH400/D20 combo ???

hope some one here can help me (asked the same question in CJ tech, but got no response)

I will likely need to flat-tow my '68 Jeepster Commando (after having lost third gear) about ten or so miles...

what is proper way to do this? what should the trans/t-case be in???

thanks!

Hoss

Pull the drive shafts would be the safest way. Just be sure to mark them so you know how they go back in place.

I get that, but I'd much rather not. it's a short distance, just a few miles.

surely, I can't be the first one to ask this?

If this rig has a transfer case with a neutral on the selector, put it in neutral, put that TH400 in Park and call it a day.
