Hitches used on TJs ?

In the market to put a hitch on my 01 TJ just wondering what brand or setup is recommended? Or that is commonly used. And or per say frame mount or new bumper with hitch built in?

Well you can put an aftermarket tow hitch under the stock bumper, but then it effects your clearance of course. Instead, I went with an AtoZ rear bumper with a real receiver tube with tow chain hooks built-in. It's a beautiful heavy-duty bumper. I then have a ball mount with a 4" drop for the trailer, which clears my 32" rear tire. AtoZ also sells this same bumper with a tire carrier.

I would suggest looking at Ground Pounder Fab, he is a JF member that has excellent product. The quality and pricing in my opinion cant be beat. You can find him here on the forum under BESRK. He is located out of VA so he is pretty close to you, but does ship the bumpers. The following link is a picture request thread with alot of different bumpers he has made. I have the rear bumper in post #6 with out the tire carreer spindle and absolutly love it. I would also suggest getting a frame tie-in kit, because the bumpers with built-in reciver are bolted to the rear crossmember not the frame.

Hey thanks for the reply but I had to pull the trigger and get something sooner than later...had some jobs to get finished around the house.... Not to many responses ( not a big deal) .... So I just went with a Reese hitch... Can't beat the price looks good tucked up there, bolted right up took me 20 min to install. It's the real deal right to the frame 4000lb not that I'll ever tow that....

I have the or-fab rear bumper:

but its a non-rated 2" receiver that is "not recommended for towing"
I want to tow something like a little HF trailer to hold my kayak/fishing gear but dont want to reinstall my stock bumper/towbar, any suggestions?
