how much weight do you need to haul? Is fuel economy important?
I would say get a Mid 90's chevy Pu, either 4x4 or 2by. Or a toyota pickup- dunno if you can find a toy in your price range. fuel economy friendly trucks- toyotas, rangers, s10, dakotas, etc
suvs- tahoes, suburbans, explorers
it all depends on whether you need a truck or suv, are worried about fuel costs, and the price of parts. I would recommend the chevy silverado/Z71/K-10-fullsize pickup

i can get the cars for wholesale prices because i work for a dealership. a tacoma wouldn't be bad. now i'm sorta thinkin i wanna pick up a camaro or trans am. they can tow. its not a heavy load. my boats only a 16ft 100 horse outboard and the other trailer carries my quad...both not heavy loads. i'm thinkin trans am or tacoma

I've seen some older toyotas that people beat the hell out of, and still continue to run. My neighbors use to have a mid 80s nissan truck that towed their 22' boat and atvs. I've pulled at 20' tent trailer with a minivan plus the back loaded up for 4adults. That minivan was actually a nice ride, AWD, 3.8 V6, captain chairs.
