flat tow tire wear?

I'm wondering if there's any significant difference in tire wear between flat towing the Jeep behind a truck vs. driving it the same distance. I sold my trailer and picked up a nice tow bar and light set-up, so I'm wanting to try flat towing for our trips to Colorado and Moab. My Jeep rides pretty decent on the road with the LAs, so if I'm going to trash the tires by flat towing I may as well just drive it.
Any thoughts?

You will get the same amount of wear regardless, if not more since the front wheels may not turn with the tow vehicle, causing them to scrub a little.

But there will be no acceleration or braking forces transmitted through the tires, so I would think they would actually wear less.

No, but it still slows down / speeds up and will scrub a bit while towing. It won't wear less. Most people I know that flat tow regularly have a separate set of tires just for it to save the expensive ones.
