Does anyone know if Jeep Cherokees are supposed to come with the ball and mount to actually be able to tow something? Seems dumb that I have the tow package tow group IV and don't have the hardware to tow. Or the dealership robbed me. Thanks, Steven

Thanks
Steven

Usually they don't come with the ball and mount. You can buy that stuff from lots of places (even Wal-Mart) for reasonable prices

I guess that's what you get for only getting the $48000 model

They don't come with ball mounts because different trailers use different height couplers and require ball mounts with different heights to keep the trailer level. Between my ZJ and WK I have 3 different 'drop' ball mounts.

No matter how expensive the vehicle, you never get the ball & mount as part of the tow package from the dealer. There are just too many combinations for them to provide a 1-size-fits-all solution.

Even if they did come with the ball, its at best a 12 yr old vehicle. Chances are the ball would be long gone by now.
