84 K5 with 6.2L Tow rig?

Just wondering what you guys think about the military k5 as a tow rig? I figured it would be slow but could it handle a flat trailer with my Yj on it? It has the 6.2L Detroit in it. (non gas converted) TH400 tranny and NP208 t-case, Front and rear 10 bolts with 3.08 gears but I would probably get a gear change to like 4:10 or something. The rear has a locker in it.

I would use it as my daily and get rid of my car that I am currently driving.

Thanks in advance!

IMO it lacks the necessary wheelbase to use as a reliable tow rig.....well that and the 6.2 is a turd

I used to use one for offroad recovery at a tow co. I worked at. Awesome rig. The torque could a barn full of hay.
Go for it .I recommend putting 33s thats all you will need

Ditto.

No way if that a long enough tow rig to tow a flatbed trailer with a Jeep on it - the jeep and trailer will probably come in at 6000lbs or so.

I know you said it's gone, but if this WAS a military truck I'd say if it was cheap go for it. I've pulled 8k+ hydr trailors from base to base with them all the time. They aren't fast, but I never broke either.
